{"id":5902,"date":"2024-07-19T13:13:56","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T13:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.powershiftafrica.org\/blogs\/power-shift-africa-team-featured-on-tbc-online"},"modified":"2026-10-28T09:37:30","modified_gmt":"2026-10-28T09:37:30","slug":"power-shift-africa-team-featured-on-tbc-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/powershiftafrica.org\/fr\/blogs\/power-shift-africa-team-featured-on-tbc-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Power Shift Africa team featured on TBC online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While on a strategic meeting hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/groundwork.org.za\/the-groundwork-coal-campaign\/africa-coal-network\/\" target=\"_blank\">Africa Coal Network<\/a> in Tanzania, Campaigns Lead at Power Shift Africa Dean Bhebhe and Movement of Movements Buildings Space Coordinator Omar Elmawi were interviewed by TBC News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Africa already houses 60% of Renewable Energy resources to drive its future energy system. The challenge is securing the financing needed to leapfrog to that new energy system.\u201d said Dean on Africa\u2019s strategic position as a renewable energy hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Omar spoke about the debt owed to Africans due to the climate crisis, which has disrupted food systems, fishing, and other nature-based livelihoods.
