{"id":6481,"date":"2024-04-17T09:31:59","date_gmt":"2024-04-17T09:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.powershiftafrica.org\/publications\/i5v6jzxf79ccza68tl2gzffskgpfo9"},"modified":"2026-08-26T14:31:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T14:31:25","slug":"i5v6jzxf79ccza68tl2gzffskgpfo9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/powershiftafrica.org\/fr\/publications\/i5v6jzxf79ccza68tl2gzffskgpfo9\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenya: Energy Development Plan to decarbonize the Economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report <em>\u2018Kenya\u2019: Energy Development Plan to decarbonise the Economy\u2019<\/em>\u00a0is the result of a joint study to develop comprehensive energy scenarios for Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It challenges the current government and private sector plan and provides new scientific input for future policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This work focuses on the development of a 100% Renewable Energy Pathways to provide data for future National Determined Contribution (NDC) report for the UNFCCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The findings show that secure and accessible 100% renewable energy systems in Africa are both achievable and economically desirable. Investment costs for grid improvements, renewable energy systems build out, and storage requirements to achieve secure 100% renewable energy systems in all three countries would be paid for multiple times over by the savings on substituted fuel costs.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The report \u2018Kenya\u2019: Energy Development Plan to decarbonise the Economy\u2019\u00a0is the result of a joint study to develop comprehensive energy scenarios for Kenya.
