There are two possible futures for the continent and its people. One where governments pursue the fossil-fuelled development pathway that the Global North followed. Or a different pathway where Africa leapfrogs fossil fuels toward a thriving economy built around energy sovereignty, industrialisation and protection of the natural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This second path is currently uncharted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To deliver a future free of fossil fuels, pollution and neocolonial dependencies, African institutions must be reformed to deliver a rapid and just energy transition on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This report will explore how the AfDB could be reformed to deliver a flourishing future for Africans.
