Waving giant euro banknotes splattered with the words “blood money”, African protesters at U.N. climate talks in Egypt demanded European governments halt a “dash” for the continent’s natural gas.
…“This is basically another scramble for Africa,” Koaile Monaheng of Power Shift Africa, a Nairobi-based energy and climate think tank, told DeSmog.
“European companies should not be here in Africa,” said Dean Bhekumuzi Bhebhe, a South Africa-based campaigner for the Don’t Gas Africa.
