Global climate protests planned during the UN conference

Climate activists, human rights activists and aid organizations are calling for a global day of action on November 12 during the World Climate Conference in Egypt.

The newly formed COP27 Coalition declared today that decentralized mass demonstrations around the world should persuade governments to step up the fight against global warming.

It is about taking several million people around the world to the streets to “defend the rights of our mother earth”. The call comes in particular from activists in Egypt, Africa and the Arab world.

...Mohamed Adow, director of think tank Power Shift Africa, said Africa in particular has been controlled and exploited from the outside for too long, both as a supplier of raw materials and as a dumping ground for obsolete technologies. The next climate conference in Egypt, which begins on November 6, must bring a moment of reset, he said.
